The female grizzly has a territory along Windtower trail that overlooks the Spray Lakes in Kananaskis country. A very popular hike one can take to experience the high mountains without the necessity of climbing gear. With spectacular views, it is well worth the day trip. It is best to give the grizzlies lots of room, as the female often has cubs with her and will defend her territory vigorously. Of more serious concern are the 5 male grizzlies whose territories overlap hers and who can be quite irritable with hikers who ignore the warning signs at the trailhead that the bears are in the area.
